The Head Coach Simone Inzaghi spoke to Lazio Style Channel after the match against OGC Nice.
“We won a tough game against a good team who based his play on physicality. I’m very happy we have won our group and we have passed to the next round because that was our goal. We can focus on the Italian league until January still completing the European round doing our best.
Probably, at the beginning of the season 4 wins in 4 games would have been hard to predict but my players deserve what they’ve achieved because they always take the field concentrated and it’s rewarding for me, their coach, to see those players who have play less to show this level of commitment.
Yesterday I had the feeling that all my players were in good form, this morning I opted for Lucas Leiva and Luis Alberto from the beginning but everyone gave his contribution to win the game who substituted the initial one and who supported from the bench. It’s important to see players who have played less so far like Patric and Luis Felipe being always ready when they are called up for the game. I congratulate them because they are great professionals who always give it all.
He is a pillar for us. Besides being the incredible player that we all know he is also a radiant person and a serious professional who trains everyday hard. Our wish is that Stephan will stay for long with us because we all need players and men like him.
I’m sure we will face a hard game because Udinese will pull its own weight, they come from two wins in a row and we will prepare the game in a short amount of time having less than 72 hours on the schedule.
My crew and I are very happy to see players who haven’t played so much playing with that so great intensity and I am enthusiastic to coach a so amazing team. As I said we have to keep it up with this condition if we want to confirm what good we did so far.
Those results don’t come by luck. I congratulate the group that have tried to work at its best because we had some unavailable players but the spirit shown today during the game by Lukaku, Murgia, Felipe Ramos who haven’t played that much so far makes me proud to coach these guys”.
